2 days off!!
So....I just realized that the only 2 days I'm getting off this work season is Christmas Eve and Chirstmas Day. I told them I wasn't going to work quite as much and that I wanted to be kept at 40 hours or less each week....I think that got mistranslated....I am working every day....but almost all of them are half days. I've worked either 2-close or 4-close every day since Tuesday.
Last night was the worst day at work!! It was so ridiculously cold out!! There was a wind chill of like 10 or 15 and it was so windy!! Long rides were the worst because the wind was coming from the South, so all the way down Main Street you were fighting the wind. =( And I only made $34 in tips last night....lame! I was really mad at the ride that stiffed me in such terribly cold weather!! At least I was punched out by 10:30, which is early compared to the past few nights that I've been punching out at midnight.
This week I'm working 4-close on Wednesday and Thursday, 9am-close on Friday, and 5-close on Saturday. I'm working 8am-? on Sunday and I think I'm 4-close on New Year's Eve....but I'm not entirely sure.....I know I'm closing that day though.
Saturday was a good night at least. I made $70 that night, which made up for the 4 stiffs I got on Friday night (only made about $35 that night). I'm hoping the weather will be nice for the next few days so I can get some good rides and good tips in before the end of the season. I won't make another paycheck until May unless I decide to work for CARRS....but I don't know if I want to do that.....I'll have more time next semester, but I don't want to overcommit.
Anyway, at least the semester turned out well. I ended up with all A's and one B. Somehow I managed to get an A in History of Psych. I don't think I deserved it, but I'm not going to argue with an A. Especially since that class was hell!! I don't think I've ever taken a worse class in my life....I think it was ever worse than that Chem class at Delta with the retired Dow worker fulfilling his lifelong dream of teaching....Wow!
Anyway, I should probably get going and do more cleaning. The whole family's coming over tomorrow and mom will freak out if everything's not done in a timely fashion.
