Sorry I have been absent here. I've been very ill and not very productive. However, I do have a few things to show off.
Firstly,
It's time for this month's installment of The Bird Whisperers!
For those of you just tuning in, we all do a piece of art inspired by the same reference photo.
This month's bird is a Grey Jay (also called the Whiskey Jay). I really love the delicate feather lines of this bird, as well as the soft but vibrant colors.
Mine is created with watercolor, guache, acrylic, and colored pencil on Arches 140 lb cold pressed watercolor paper.
Please visit the #BirdWhisperer Project page
https://www.facebook.com/birdwhisperer.project to see the reference photo and all of the other art for this month!
The Bird Whisperers was an idea hatched by Amanda Makepeace and Melissa Gay, and anyone can play along! Please tag the #BirdWhisperer Project page so we can see your lovely artwork, and use the #BirdWhisperer tag. We love to spread the love of birds!
I also managed to make this Christmas gift for my mother.
My grandmothers each received prints.
Not my usual subject, but one they all enjoy.
A Bebe Bru doll with Blue Willow motif dress.
I also completed my last Christmas commission of the year:
Did I post this one? I don't remember... one of three Christmas commissions I had this year. The other will be non-disclosed.
And in closing here are a few things I've been working on in my sketchbook.
Looking back at thist post, I suppose my December was pretty damn productive. Just not so much in my sketchbook as usual.
I have one Christmas gift left to create which will be sadly late, and another commission lined up as well as work for the Changeling Artist Collective.
I think I can confidently say that for 2017 I am booked as far as commissions go until further notice.
