i've been doing more st. augustine hotel research on tripadvisor. i'm satisfied with my choice of hotel if i can't find anything better, but i figured i'd look around anyway. which brings me to the point of...
i am so sick of reading reviews from illiterate people. sometimes the complaints are legitimate, but most of the time i just wonder about the people writing the negative review and think maybe it's not the hotel's fault their stay was so bad, especially since the positive reviews surrounding the negatives are generally well written and IN ENGLISH. the following is word for word, cut and pasted, from the site.
to start with all non amearican but 2 there are men that clean rooms there are no uniforms so you dont know who is cleaning your room my partner was not happy with amale cleaner especially one that speaks no english one lady inlaundry i believe been there long time always friendly and american always helps out if asked ask questions response dont understand ive been here before, seems like such a nice place would employ americans and females i no we will not be back until no men, uniforms and americans.
how the ever loving hell can THIS person possibly complain about two housekeeping staff who don't speak english? and what does it matter if the person cleaning your room is male or female? they're cleaning your room aren't they? that's more than i can say for some hotels who leave sand in your bed. i will agree with them that the staff should wear uniforms, or if not uniforms, some way to identify that they're staff.
i don't think these kind of reviews should be deleted necessarily, as i think illiterate people have the RIGHT to express their opinions, however i think they should have the ABILITY to before doing so in a public forum.
but, maybe i'm just being an ass.
