Steps Forward and Steps Back

So let me get the good stuff out of the way first, after all I want anyone who actually DOES read this site to potentially be able to see that there's some amazing things going on in my life.

For starters, I have finished editing LINE OF SIGHT, the choreographed action film that I made last summer with Rob Ramirez, Bob Novich, and Sam Anderson, which just happens to be the first side-story to the epic series I'm working on called The Peregrine Saga. It won't be up on the internet until I get music for it that I can claim ownership of in some regard, but in the meantime, anyone that wants to see it with the demo music, from Trigun no less, can come to my room and check it out on my computer. It's definitely worth a watch, methinks, and its definitely a step in one of the right directions for our little group at Strikeaposefilms.com, which everyone should check out by the way, as Ryan and Myself have made some really great adjustments to the Films and Forums pages.

Second, while I haven't been making much money or success working for Primerica this winterbreak, I have had time to work on side projects dealing with my films and whatnot. Hanging out with Thomas has been great, as was seeing other people like Sam and Rob. I'm trying to work on a script idea with Thomas, and a comic idea with Michael based on one of my stock characters, the Bodyguard Macguffin. The former is going to be my first attempt at working with a potential "serious" storyline about something that could either go indy or hollywood in terms of "league", and the latter is my chance to be a little emo and a little fantasy based in the meantime. I like having a balance of real and fantasy, comedy and dark emotion.

The BIG news, and this is what I'm most proud of, is that I'm in talks to be making a FULL LENGTH documentary with a martial arts school that practices a diverse mix of Japanese styles. There's a lot going for me with this, because there's A) A financier, B) a script, and C) ACTUAL TALENT. The other big thing about it is that there will most likely be some sort of distribution deal. This means that, by writing, directing, and editing a fully funded project, not only do I stand to make some serious cash, I stand to make some serious experience in the real field and have something deep and beautiful under my belt and onto my resume.

I love Lisa
