Fall Shows I'm Pumped For ...

33884 / 60000 words. 56% done!

YAY! I've crossed over the halfway point. Things seem to be flowing really smoothly now. I know what needs to happen to finish the second third of the book. I was getting concerned that the wordcount would fall short of 60k ... and then I realized that I still haven't figured out what happens between the end of ACT II and the end of ACT III. So, lots of time for more running around and chaos!

Okay, here's a list of the shows I'm most excited for this fall (which starts next week, I think), in no particular order ...

SONS OF ANARCHY, Season 2 (September 8)

I was already pumped for this show. The first season blew me away. Motorcycle gangs, gun running, Clay, Jax. What's not to love? But the one thing about this show that REALLY caught me was Gemma (Katey Sagal). She is the most badass character I've ever seen and I love that she's so damn ruthless when it comes to protecting her family. This show has characters that you can't help but care about (even if they're doing questionable things). But as if that weren't enough ... HENRY ROLLINS is in season two. OMG!!!! Words cannot describe my love for Henry Rollins. I'd leave the Husband in a hot second for him (sorry hubby!). *gusty sigh*

GLEE (September 16)

There's nothing else out there like this show. I was curious enough to watch the pilot (it aired last spring) and I haven't stopped talking about it since. A definite Must See.

SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND (September 22)

I've heard criticism that this is a Gladiator and 300 rip off. My response ... So what? I loved both those movies and this show looks like it's taking some of the best pieces of them and melding it into something new. And it has Lucy Lawless in it. Xena was one of my favorite shows as a kid and I'll watching anything with her as a result. But a show about gladiators with one of my favorite lady badasses?? I'm sold. Plus the line where he's asked how many men he'd kill to have his wife back and he says "I'd kill them all." *faints*

VAMPIRE DIARIES (September 10)

Some people say this is just a Twilight knock-off but they have no idea what they're talking about. Vampire Diaries (by L.J. Smith) came out roughly ten years before Twilight. Honestly, these books changed my life. They introduced me to YA urban fantasy (such as it was back then) and vampires and lusty love triangles. I felt positively wicked reading them and I still have 3 of the 4 original books (which I fully intend to go back and reread soon). The only real gripe I have with this is that Elena isn't blonde. I know, I know, it shouldn't be that big of deal ... but it kind of is. Either way, I'll give this a shot and cross my fingers that they don't butcher it.

MELROSE PLACE (September 8)

I used to watch the original back in the day (and I doubt I had any idea of what was really going on because I was too young, but I loved it regardless). And yeah, it has Ashley Simpson in it and, yeah, 90210 didn't work out at all when they remade it. But hope springs eternal.

DEXTER, Season 4 (September 27)

Dexter is amazing. I mean, he's a freaking serial killer and sociopath and I love him anyways.

GOSSIP GIRL, Season 3 (September 14)

There's no excuse for it, I love Gossip Girl. It's kind of my guilty pleasure. I'm looking forward to watching Blaire and Chuck screw things up again. *grins*
