Writing (Character Pictures, Update) and True Blood, episode 2

Jun 24, 2009 09:51

I watched True Blood the other night. I cannot express my love for that show. And I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. One thing I'm pretty sure I've figured out what Maryann is! I see how most of the characters are getting maneuvered to Dallas (where Sookie goes in the second book), which is interesting. The Husband became fed up with me very quickly because I squealed like a school girl at an N'Sync concert every time Eric came on screen. Embarrassing things kept popping out of my mouth (like "He's a sexy beast!") until the Husband threatened me with a cold shower. What can I say? I absolutely adore Eric. *gusty sigh*

In other news (this is going to be a long post), I was searching deviantart.com for pictures of my characters (procrastination, thy name is Katee) and I stumbled upon Devon and Jersey. Now, these aren't exactly how I pictured them - Devon's not quite so sex-bomb-y and Jersey has much shorter hair - but they're still shockingly similar.

This is Devon (mostly):

And this is Jersey:

I've also become the very last person on the internet to discover Dr. Wicked's lovely Write or Die program. I tried it out today on the basic settings but I think I'll have to step it up a notch to really push myself. Here's the cute widget:

I send my chapters to my Alpha (whom I will call Alpha from here on out) and she sends me back a few comments about each on. Ones for Chapters 3-5 had me cracking up last night. They were:

Alpha on Chapters 3 and 4: ok, so glad she kissed jake-i love him. she's got to forgive him sometime, maybe after he dies to save her life? just a thought. its gotta be tragic right? hehe
Alpha on Chapter 5: No! i love Gabriel but Devon CANNOT end up with him! that would be so wrong....love the story tho

It's always nice to know that my characters strike a note (either good or bad) with the reader, ESPECIALLY in the first draft!

Here's the newest word count - nearly a quarter of the way through!

15567 / 65000 words. 24% done!
