Dreams

Dancing shadows spinning spinning
Each foot tenderly placed on mirrored gears
below a vast construction, invisible in that it is seamlessly reflective to everything around
No supports but the long chain of working gears underneath
nothing overhead but the same mirrored clockwork
we, ourselves whirl in endless circles reflected
My shadow leads as we swirl down from one gear to the next without looking
almost without caring, if it is there
watching as the two of us reflected dance further away in the reflections that defy the rules
We can see ourselves
they float seemingly made of nothing at all...
just barely edges where the giant clock moves
I have captured time and do not know what to do with it or what it shall do with me
If I miss a step I am lost
If I take no other steps
Than I am lost
I must change the music
I drink my shadow
who turns to liquid as I grab at her arms
the whirling clouds and blue skys fade
The cosmos appear
Whirling stars and galaxies on black background
and I start to sing
and everything stops

dreams, poetry
