heard tony fernandes speak on thursday on how air asia has developed into such a successful low cost carrier. the problem with charismatic speakers is that they blow you away and you forget that there are always at least two sides to a story. after hearing his amusing anecdotes and views on the growth of his airline, the alarm bells took a little while to start ringing when mr fernandes took issue with singapore putting his seemingly win-win (for singapore and his airline) plans on permanent hold with our "protectionist" measures. if the audience knew more about what was at stake for us, there'd probably be less cheers for mr f.

had a very pleasant friday dinner with friends at waraku, but not before getting lost in the maze of scaffolding at marina square *shudder*. it was nice to see yw and sy, knowing that it'll probably be another year before i see them again. somewhere in the next two to three years, i will visit california again *determined*.
if i have to answer another "so, what do you all do?" question in the next month or two, i will have to scream. it always starts off fine, but today after two hours of answering the same question, i wanted to cover my ears, shake my head and go "no! no! no! anything but that question" ... but being the ever-obliging me, i just smiled and recited the model answer in a most engaging manner. hehe.
