was talking to a colleague who's moving on (not out!) and got reminded about how thankful i should be to be where i am and doing what i do at work. no negative vibes, no cliques, a motley crew of managers that somehow hang together despite the age gap and different backgrounds, everyone respecting the work done by others without envy, no jostling for opportunities to shine knowing well that everyone will get their turn ... just the feeling of real teamwork. had quite forgotten that this happy situation is not a given in other departments. for this, i am grateful.

met up with pl yesterday for a long yummy dinner at CHIJMES' sun and moon restaurant. love her with the bottomless stomach and ability to eat with a passion. :) it was also great catching up, what with our busy travel schedules (mine for work, hers for leisure!) making it so difficult to meet since my wedding. speaking with people from the private sector, one has to remember not to use the many abbreviations and acronyms that we are so fond of in the public sector ... or risk being met with blank stares. STB, IES, MFA ... what? huh? heh. we take for granted that everyone knows the work done by ministries and statutory boards ... but that's not really the case.

cooked for the mum-in-law today and thankfully nothing was undercooked / got burnt. HEHE. :D brownie points.

penny for my thoughts, friends
