zipped out to suntec on sunday evening after almost a whole weekend of being cooped up at home to get a roomy cabin-sized samsonite luggage good enough for short working trips. what i like about it is that it has compartments that are just the right size for shoes, for toiletries and for other odds and ends one doesn't want to throw in with the clothes. then, after i was all packed and ready to go, the indians came up with some fine excuse for cancelling the meeting, and so i'm still in singapore and too lazy to unpack. was quite relieved to stay back though ... work has been piled on without end since the start of the year, and there would have been no break until mid-february. at least now i'll have some work-life balance this week.
the only other vaguely productive thing i did over the weekend was to go jogging. going jogging with ck can be quite demanding because he RUNS ... not jogs. and once i get burnt out trying to keep up with him, i lose all hope of covering a decent distance during that jogging session. anyway, we did the usual loop around those colonial black-and-white bungalows again ... very nice trees everywhere! :)

i quite like this picture from the berkeleybunch gathering at our place earlier this month. it could have been a scene from our student days ... there would be those hooked to the playstation *erhem*, those lounging around, and the rest busy playing poker or mahjong. except that at our place, the rest were playing citadels. :D and of course, junk food aplenty.

so, suharto has passed away. one less friend of singapore. wonder if we will see any shift in indonesia's foreign policy towards our little red dot after this ...

i wonder how long i will be able to keep up with this distance jogged / number of dinners cooked counter. my blog posts are too few and far between for me to really keep track in an accurate way. i think we're up to 11.5 km and 11 dinners now, but i could be wrong, especially for the latter because i do cook quite a bit.
but actually, the most exciting thing is to countdown, not to count-up. and so ... *drumroll*

2 years, 5 months, 7 days! :D
