Sunday yet again
Tomorrow I go back to work, actually at work. Boo. I'm already hip deep in my work, but I'm not mentally happy with going back to the building. I need to talk with my boss because if things start getting really sore, I want the option of ending my day working from home. It's easier for me t do this, only being 5 minutes from work. This past week I had 3 meetings with "customers", all at our 76th street location (not the location my desk is at). It was good to see people again, and I got more than 1 hug from people who were very, VERY happy to have me back. I'm going to spend a lot of time tomorrow having the 'glad your back' conversation.
I have PT at 11:30-12:15. And I'm planning on working from home after, with ice and my leg up. Tuesday afternoon, I have my 8 week post-op checkup. I'm hoping to get the go ahead to set the date for knee #2 in October. Then I have to work backwards to make my next project deadline 2 weeks before I go i the hospital, so we have time to test it first. (Which we didn't last time). I want to have surgery on 10/8/15. That would have me going back to work 1/2 time Thanksgiving week and the following week (or the week before, depending on how much vacation time I have available). That only gives me 10 weeks of PT in the calendar year. Maybe that will be enough. I'll know more in 2 weeks.
Not much went on this past week, besides work & PT. I was very tired at the end of every day. I need to get up 30-60 minutes earlier this week, so I can have breakfast before we head out (instead of after I get back). And, M wants me to get to work at 8:30 so that I can leave at 4:30, instead of leaving around 5 as was most common before. It makes our evening seem much longer if we get home by 5:30 rather than by 6:30. we'll see how it goes.
Coming up this week. My cousin from D.C. e-mailed that he will be passing through town on Thursday, with his 3 teen age kids, driving the oldest to college in Sioux Falls, SD. They will be staying overnight with us. Baby bro & SIL will also be her, because they haven't seen this cousin in many years (none of us have). So, 6 guests. Sainted Big Bro is giving up his house for the cousins, and he will stay at his girlfriend's house. Baby Bro & SIL will stay here as per usual. Now, what do we feed everyone, or where do we go for dinner?
And now for me, I'm off for my shower and an hour of icing before my 10pm bed time.
