I'm staying up too late, writing this because... I don't know. I hate going to bed on Sunday nights? I think I can't stand for my weekend to be over. And I just remembered that I did NOT make my lunches yet. May have to try to do that in the morning. Writing on the real computer too. I don't use it very often, mostly to pay bills. And if I do it late on a Sunday night (as I often do) I stay on to play. This is the only machine I can play my favorite Solitaire program on (Solitaire till Dawn - Mac only). And I can kill hours doing that.

R & C come home tomorrow, Monday, after a month in Ireland. Everyone one can't wait for them to get home (including them) but mostly Miss Barky Pants (aka Nova, their dog). A working family is simply not the same as having your people with you 24/7. We are a very poor substitute. The only thing that makes us halfway tolerable from her point of view, is that we are Lycan's parents. And Lycan is her bestest dog friend. (That feeling is mutual.) We are very concerned about what Lycan will do when Nova leaves. Last Wednesday, when Nova went to visit her grandparents for the day, Lycan licked a spot on her leg raw. I was so thankful that we did not have a licking problem with her, but now we do. That is a behavior that is so very hard to stop or redirect. And we al know Lycan is going to be very, very depressed when Nova goes home. =(

The only semi-bright spot is that chances are Nova will be staying with s for a few more days. The grandparents have just sold their home. Closing is on the 17th (only 2 weeks after the offer was accepted) which seems crazy to me, unless they are paying cash. My understanding was that it usually took a solid 30 days to dot all the i's and cross all of the t's. Oh well. R & C will come home and immediately start packing up the sizable amount of stuff that is left at the house. And we will help, because we are supportive. *sigh*

Yesterday there were snow flurries in the area. So now any nice weather can be called Indian Summer. M and I have our first official colds of the season. Yippie. Generic DayQuill is my friend.

Lately our evenings have all been about the dogs. Two dogs is a little more than twice as much work as one, FYI. And yet, we are talking about getting a second dog, because Lycan has done so well with Nova here. =\ we will continue to talk about it.

Niece is home from NYC for a few days. She just got a new job as a textile designer for Hanes. Yay Niece!

What else is new? Since we are now dog parking nearly daily, and it's getting dark so early, we need a new light-up dog collar for Lycan. Nova has inherited the old one which no longer fits her huge neck. I also want to get her a fleecy winter coat that will keep her belly warm. The jacket we bought last spring doesn't cover any of her tummy; thankfully it still fits her, barely. So we went to REI, where I found everything. The wonderful Night Eyez collar, and a very neat orange fleece jacket that she can wear under her more water repellant coat, and it covers her tummy, which the other coat doesn't do.
