Thanksgiving this year was at our house. As always. But this year Sainted Big Bro™ has a new convection stove/oven and volunteered to make the turkey...well, to have his housemate, Sheryl make the turkey, stuffings and gravy. Done deal. B was particularly thrilled, as those are usually her responsibility. But I need to cut to the chase. Niece, was first offered the option of making the turkey, as she is now the age at which B was first tapped to do the "honors". Niece resoundingly declined. When the day arrived, Niece showed up with salad in hand, sneezing & coughing; she also brought her cold. I wanted to tell her to leave immediately. The Mater doesn't need to be exposed unnecessarily to cold & flu germs, and neither does Sainted Big Bro™ (he has some syndrome that when he gets cold or flu, not only does it hang on for months, but he usually ends up in the hospital). Instead I allowed Nice to come in but gave her strict instructions not to hug *anyone*.
Yeah, Sunday night I started sneezing and with a soar throat. *I* caught her cold. Grumble. I have a really big deadline on Friday at work, and I made big strides on Monday & Tuesday. Today I gave in and called in sick. I had a dentist appointment at 8, but afterwards straight back to bed for me. I got up to feed Lycan, but otherwise slept until 2:30. I feel much better tonight (or I did until my medicine wore off. Yikes! I forgot my 8pm DayQuil.
I'll catch up more anon. But now, drugs and back to bed!
Tonight I ma thankful for DayQuil, Puffs with lotion, B who made dinner on both my nights this week, and especially M who pampers me when I'm sick.
(Why is Lycan barking outside at 10pm?)
