Amazing Love
Church today was great. nuff said.
Lately i have been feeling down, okay REALLY down. like the kind of down that scares you and everyone else around you for that matter. Ever feel like your searching for something, but your not really sure what? and if your not sure what your searching for, how will you know if you found it? or where to look?? well i have felt like that alot in my life. But i know what i have been longing for, and that is *Love* I have looked for love in many places. parents, relationships with men,a perfect job, puppies!-seriously, how can you not love a puppy? anyway.... I have been searching for a love that doesnt exist here in this world. But i wanted the kind of love that you can be sure of, rest in, depend on, run to, lean on, never changing, never leaving. And i kept getting dissapointed when i didnt find that *perfect* love i needed so badly. What would it take for me to find this kind of love? and Does it exist?
yes. and in fact, i was doing exactly the right thing to find it.. searching for it. Longing for it, dreaming of it.
One major problem tho.. I have been searching for that love IN THIS WORLD. That kind of love only exists beyond this world. yes many people do carry traits of this type of love, but not all on thier own, and they didnt get it from this world, thats for sure.
"And i say unto you, Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, Knock and it shall be opened unto you" Luke 11:9"
Praise God for his word. The answer to everything.
God offers us something we cannot find in this world. And thats a real love, an agape LOVE. The kind of love i mentioned in the beginning of this entry. And what IS that love that he offers? Glad you asked... God is and offers to all, THIS kind of love...
"Love is patient, love is kind, [and] is not jealous; love does not brag [and] is not arrogant, 5. does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong [suffered], 6. does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7. bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8. Love never fails" 1 corinthians 4-8
THIS my friends, is what LOVE is. this is true love, this is real love.
God Is love. God offers to me the kind of love that i have been looking for all this time. So can i say i have found the kind of love ive been needing this whole time? YES, yes i can.
as christians, this love described in 1 corinthians should flow through us at all times, we should love others with the kind of love that God has for us. For it is the spirit of God living inside of us. What a joy it is to have this love.
Thank you Lord for loving me the way you do. Help me to love others with that kind of unfailing love.
