10) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix:
Although it's not my favorite of the Harry Potter films and although I saw it 3 times in one week against my will which throughoughly watered it down, the biggest reason I included this on my list was for the way it made me feel the first time I heard Sirius Black say, "Nice one, James."
9) Reign Over Me:
Also known as the "Shadows of the Colossus" movie. This movie made me like Adam Sandler as an actor. He usually plays crazy people who yell, but this time he was a serious crazy person who yelled.
8) Mr. Bean's Holiday
I know it's just childish slapstick, but that's what Rowan Atkinson is best at. This film has very little dialogue, which helps it keep in tone with the original Bean shorts, as opposed to the first Bean movie. And Willem DaFoe plays a great arrogant director.
7) Ratatouille
I went into this film with low expectations, but it was visually stunning and the story's moral of pursuing your dreams was touching. Classic Pixar, much better than the previous Cars film.
6) Knocked Up
The reason this film is so low on my list is because it's been over shadowed by some later films, but I still have to remember that I thought this film was wizard the first time I saw it. Made me fall in love with Judd Apatow.
5) 1408
One of the best scray movies I've seen in a while, although it was more like a psychological thriller in the most literal sense. And even though it wasn't presented as a huge movie, I suggest you see it if you haven't.
4) Stardust
If this movie weren't here, Enchanted would be in its place, but Stardust had some wonderful quality that reminded me of old fairy tales. And that quality was Ricky Gervais.
3) Superbad
This is the first reason Koncked Up was placed so low. I felt this was such a fun ride to watch. I could watch the scene where Michael Cera is caught in the room with the people doing coke a million times. He should star in every movie.
2) Juno
And this is the second reason Knocked Up was placed so low. This movie is a comedy, but it feels so natural. None of the jokes seem forced, or over the top. The only real "funny" moments are when the characters are actually trying to be funny. The rest of the time they just act like people with problems. And I know I love Michael Cera, but Ellen Page is the true star of this film. I hope to see her in many more films.
1) The Darjeeling Limited
This is, without a doubt, my favorite Wes Anderson film so far. He's good at making movies about dysfunctional families. There's not really much I can say without ruining the plot so go see it if you haven't. Now.
