This was a long day, though not as long as it could've been.
First I had to wake up early to move my car due to last night's basketball game, and once I had done that, I had hours to kill until my class started. And since my roommate didn't have any classes today, he was still asleep, so these were boring quiet hours.
My first class today was Differential Equations, which is a big lecture that I share with Yee-Ann. The teacher is a stereotypical Asian guy whose accent is a bit difficult to understand and makes up words like "determinate" and "basical." But the worst part was this one girl who must not have had prior Calculus classes who would endlessly ask why certain things happened in the problems and then the teacher would have to explain a whole new concept which no doubtedly confused the rest of the class who was having trouble understanding him anyway. Plus, one of the textbooks that was listed as "recommended, not required" is going to be where our homework comes from. I'll wait until my discussion class tomorrow to find out if this means I have to buy the book.
The next class was Physics: Electricity and Magnetism. The class seems fine, and the teacher had a Russian accent, but he's easier to understand. Yee-Ann's in that class too, but I sat between a guy named Erik who was in my Physics classes last semester and a junior girl who had all sorts of interesting piercings.
Those last two people were also in my Lab class which is normally 4 hours long, but today was only 1 hour. This is because classes started on Wednesday and so the Monday and Tuesday classes will have one less week to have this course. So we just did intro stuff and took a test to see how much we remembered from last semester (or whenever the student took the previous Lab class). The Monday and Tuesday people will have to do this next week along with the 3 hour assignment that we'll be doing next class.
So, all in all, today wasn't very exciting, but at least there's no homework.
