The three weeks leading up to my due date were /the worst/. The anticipation drove me crazy. I was having BH ctractions, and they kept falling into a regular pattern and then dissipating. We thought for /sure/ he would be early. Tried all tricks - walking and sex, and all yhe old wives' tales - spicy foods, pineapple, jumping jacks (not fun), diving on bumpy roads... you name it. Punk was still 4 days past his due date.

In my family, all the first babies were late. I would recommend denying that the baby is coming. S/he is just getting ready and practicing. Let him/her come at his/her own time.

Try doing things that actually require attention like reading or crossword puzzles, instead of watching tv or walking. Try drawing something upside down from how you see it. Write a song or a story or a letter for Baby. Teach your puppy a new trick. Call a chatty friend - if you don't have one, call my grandmother! Write down your answers to this survey: http://allthatiam-allthatieverwas.blogspot.com/2007/10/distraction-survey-3-50-random.html. Take the impossible quiz: http://www.addictinggames.com/theimpossiblequiz.html. Find a new game to play, one that is a little complicated to master like Go.

I am a firm believer in denial. Works wonders for things like this when you just can't wait. I do hope little one comes soon though, I can't wait to see a picture of the newly expanded happy family!
