Ok so when we were little, girls had their dolls to play games of "house" with, and boys had their nintendos to play their games on... When these little boys and girls got bored with their games what did they do? They dropped them only to find one more "appealing" to them... As the boys and girls grew up (or so we shall say that they did) they stopped playing with their dolls and their nintendo games (at least some of them did...). Anyways, they found knew games to play except this time it was with something a lot more valuable than dolls and nintendo games... It was now with other peoples feelings... We as human beings ever since childhood were taught to play games to entertain us, but when that game gets boring then it's time to move on and find a new one... Thus the reason why boys and girls like to play games with each other by playing "hard to get" as you so eloquently put it...
