I know I'm getting tiresome with these posts, but it's really for the greater good.

Okay, so out of the five remaining BBB summaries, I've completed the amputation!fic, signed up for western!fic and salire has promised to do the MCR!gangbang. That means there are TWO tiny little fics left. TWO of them. Come on, isn't there anyone who isn't violently allergic to AAG out there who could take on what looks to be a very cute romcom Brencer with hollywood!Spencer/co-star!Brendon? Or who'd consider doing the abortion/dysmorphia!rywalk for the greater good?

I guess some of you are wondering why I'm pushing this, seeing as I have nothing to do with running BBB. I know some of you don't want to sign up because you don't think you're good enough, or don't want to pick certain fics because they will most likely be a very painful read. And I know some of you think I'm a bit crazy putting myself through reading 50 pages of rape!fic (ah, good times) when non-con makes me violently uncomfortable.

But the thing is, BBB is the biggest bandom event of the year, and has a much broader group of people writing than any other exchange/event. The lack of quality control means there is everything from very good to very bad, sure, and that causes a gazillion problems every year. But it also means that people who don't participate in other events participate in BBB, and sometimes there are hidden gems. Like last year, when I found one of the best Ryden fics I've ever read in the pile of left-over summaries for art that nobody wanted.

I'd like to think BBB could offer the same thing to artists. To be a place where artists can try new things and learn and, hopefully, make someone happy in the process. 95% of the fic isn't perfect, so why does the art need to be? Let's keep it about trying and being creative and making each other happy. Because I bet that 99% of all writers would be a hell of a lot happier getting art from someone who didn't have the time, tools or experience to make it 100% perfect than being the only one not picked in a group of 66 people.

So please imagine yourself being that last person, and compare it to the feeling of getting art for your fic, even if it's not exactly what you hoped it would be. And if you think the first option is worse, please, please go sign up and help me finish this off. ♥
