This will be my first year ever not winning. I've come to accept it, so it's all good. I'll try and get something else done on my story when I can, but this month has been crazy busy with the new job, training in Michigan for 3.5 days, and Thanksgiving.

Actually, I've been having some giving up thoughts myself. :( Every word is like pulling teeth, really, and I don't even completely hate my story. It's just not working this year at all.

I'm not going to encourage you to give up. I'm going to encourage you to write whatever you can get done this month, but don't stress too much. LOL

Yeah, I don't think I'll drop the story, but I'm probably going to stop aiming for the 50K. Seems a shame to break a winning streak of would have been what? Six years? I just can't find the energy for it.

I suspect this living together business is probably part of the reason. It doesn't feel like it has been as short as it has, but I suppose it is still a bit new.

I did 1700 words today. Not a lot when 5K behind, but the very thought of doing just fifteen minutes more made me go bleh and seek refuge in Steam. Being in a computer game phase in November + determined to read all that sshg_exchange fic + NaNo = Bad timing, it seems. And right now the first bit and second bit are more fun than the third bit. (Currently reading a story about Hermione teaching (now an Unspeakable) Severus to drive because he's going undercover as an ice cream van man.)

Yeah, I imagine going from being alone to living with someone does mess with timing and things you are used to doing. That's how this full time job has been for me too. It's just been crazy!

We even fail spectacularly together. :D Next year we'll do better.

Very true. I knew after my day on Tuesday with having to replace the starter in my car and then taking the drive to Michigan, that it wasn't going to happen at all. LOL
