So, I've been trying to plan a bit for our trip... I looked up some more wineries. There are just a ton, with lots in the same general area. So, we could go to one area, see a few, and then do something else. I'm thinking the days are really long, so the part of the day we aren't wine tasting could be spent walking in the redwoods or at the beach, or at the river. I've found that I've forgotten a lot about the area. I'm going to be the tour guide person, and I'm worried I've forgotten everything. Hmph. Maybe it'll come back when I get there.

I guess what I'm wondering, is how many wineries should we try to visit? Mainly, we'll have Friday and Saturday to do that, I think. If we're feeling up to it, we could also stop on the way to the cabin on Thursday. It looks like the tasting and tour hours tend to be early afternoon (10-3ish?) in general.

Let me summarize my ideas. We will, of course, leave plenty of free time. What I'm trying to avoid is the hours normally spent trying to decide what to do and how to get there, etc. I'll list a bunch of things, and we can pick out a some of them, in order of preference.

1. Go to Pacific Ocean; include stop for iced coffee, salt water taffy, chocolate --30 minute drive from cabin, free
2. Walk in Redwoods -- 10 minute drive, free
3. Go to River Beach, swim, hang out in sun, picnic? --walking distance to cabin or few minute drive, free
4. Go to Kozlowski farms - berry farms, with free tasting and food to buy invloving berries -- 10 minutes from cabin
5. Visit Wineries:
5a) Already agreed we should visit the fancy Domaine-Carneros - 11-4 hourly complementary tour and hors devours, wine sold by glass and bottle (wonder how much it is?) --near downtown sonoma, about 1 hour drive
5b) Also recommended by Keiko was Viansa - 11-2 hourly tour $5, includes tasting -- near sonoma, probably 1 hour from cabin
5c) Korbel - I think you can just stop in and taste, free. They also have sparkiling wine and brandy (or is it sherry?) --very close to cabin (5 minute drive)
5d) Ravenswood - tasting $4 : 10-4:30, tour $4 @ 10:30am (includes tasting) -- downtown sonoma, < 1hour drive
5e) Random pick, a hungarian established winery called, strangly, Buena Vista - free self guided tour from 10-5, with a free tasting presentation at 11 and 2. --downtown sonoma, < 1 hour drive
5d and 5e are very close to each other, I think they are walking distance to each other, in downtown sonoma.

At some point, I'd like to visit with Dawn, too.

Oh hey, today is the birthday of my best friend in fourth and fifth grade, Laurann!
