TMI...?
have you ever heard of beeturia? yeah, i hadn't either until monday morning. i won't go into the gorey details, but suffice to say that through some minor experimentation, i figured out it wasn't my pee that was causing my toilet water to be blood red! (no, please do not go thinking that i dissected my poo or anything gross like that, because i didn't. that would be too...ew, even for me!)
after my initial panic at seeing the color of my toilet water, i quickly googled "red poop" and found this, which made me feel soooo much better. of course! i'd eaten about 3 lbs of beets (both red and golden) last weekend, as part of that beet and blood orange salad that i'd made.
obviously, i've never experienced this particular phenomenon before. i guess that's because i typically don't have a steady diet of beetroot...?
ETA: oh, and just in case you're curious, everything was back to normal by tuesday morning. :)
