Breaking the law, breaking the law

I had a run-in with a Fremont PD today -- the school resource officer at my daughters' high school. I didn't move out of the drop-off circle fast enough for him and, even worse(!), when he told me to move, I talked to him through the closed window of my car and (even though i could hear him loud and clear) he apparently couldn't hear a word i said ( Read more... )

I parked in the drop off circle to walk Heather around campus while she obtained all the required signatures for her withdrawal...we were there for 2 hours. I half-expected a ticket on my windshield when we returned but it was all clear except for the road dirt! :)

Oh, and guess what? While we were standing in the Admin Office, one of the office workers got up from her desk and said, "Watch this...he's here." And everyone turned toward the window, through which we could see a female student get into a blue car just as a red car drove quickly around the drop-off circle and stopped at an angle so as to prevent the blue car from moving. Red car driver (her dad?) got out, yelled and pointed his finger as he walked towards the driver of the blue car (her boyfriend?), turned towards the passenger side, opened the passenger door, grabbed the girl by her arm, yanked her from the car and pushed her towards the passenger door of his car. At that point a couple of school officials including the principal walked quickly towards the three people. Where was the school resource officer? Isn't THAT the kind of situation he should be front and center for, defusing tempers, keeping things from escalating? I have no idea. He finally showed up after everyone was calmed down and talking to various school officials.

*not going to get mad not going to get mad not going to get mad*
