I had a very nice Thanksgiving with my mom and Aunt. We ate dinner at the Manor Tavern up in Northern Baltimore County. It was a traditional dinner except for desert. It was very good. The stuffing tasted excellent, which is a requirement for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner anywhere (weight Watchers or not). The Sweet Potatoes were excellent and the turkey was moist (something hard to do with Turkey.) I kept to my points for the day (with about five of the weekly points to enjoy some Pie). There were leftovers, which surprised me. I wasn't stuffed at all nor wanting the usual nap that comes with post Thanksgiving dinner.
Neither football game was good, which disappoints me because I remember the days when Barry Sanders would run wild on Thanksgiving (no matter how bad the Lions were). I did enjoy Iron Chef America's take on Thanksgiving on Food Network last night. It has to be an immense challenge to do Turkey in an hour (the traditional takes four hours or so). The thing I wanted to eat most was the Iron Chef's Braised Turkey.
This morning I stopped by Walmart and got the last of the $128 Blu-Ray players. I am happy because I wanted a Blu-Ray when I got my HDTV in January, but were so expensive (around $400) for one. The question I am wondering is What should my test disk be? Dvd's test disk was Ghost in the Shell and proved the format as viable along with Animation as a medium for adults. What should be my Blu-ray test disk? I am leaning towards Paprika (yes, I have the DVD). That seems to be the film that would pop the best in Blu-Ray.
