Since I sent draft v 1.0 of my IRB yesterday, I felt compelled to start another project. I cut out fabric to make this pattern in the short jacket (view A - black) with the sleeves from view B (blue).
Happy Anniversary fdmts! It has been 10 absolutely delightful years.
July
Cute cats, cut work: (didn't feel like excerpting) I'm sure you all appreciate how much it STINKS going back to work after vacation. Could be a lot worse, however. That being said, I'm the service attending plus whatever else this week, and while I wish I could spend MORE of my time doing paperwork, I seem to be getting on OK.
Minnow is super cute, but I think she's in the bedroom, shredding a roll of paper towels while fdmts sleeps. Maia still loves me, evidently.
Oh, and I'm feeling a little edgy b/c a good couple friends of ours, married just over 32 years, is getting a divorce...and it sounds like a good thing. Suxors vs. blessing.
I'm in Santa Fe (35°40'2"N 105°57'52"W) and have finally managed to coax the WiFi into letting my laptop eke out a bit of signal. This is of course insufficient, but I will take what I can get.
The people at work (in the ultrasound unit) are generally very good cooks. There's a large contingent of the people there who love to bake, and then there's a few others who make other interesting things. We have a sort of birthday cake round robin -- you bring dessert for the person after you, and we have a list.
So, in the one remaining month of the year before we go into the unbelievable holiday food eating season. The time when there's still an inkling of a chance that one could avoid putting on 10 lbs by the end of the year --
We are now doing a Pumpkin Bake Off!!
November
I've decided that I hate work and I'm not going today. (Well, not really. I never skip work. [even when I'm half dead with some dread disease {makes sense, doesn't it?}])
December
"Out of the deep have you called unto me..." I feel that, like you other LJ people, it's been ages since I had anything with enough thought behind it to post to the blog. You see, for those of you who aren't aware IT'S WINTER and it's COLD and DARK and the DAYS ARE SHORT. This sucks. HOWEVER!!! I think that it's Tuesday that the sun does it's famous turnaround dance and starts marching forward to a more reasonable ratio of light to dark. This is good.
