In keeping with the times...

As most of you know, fdmts and I have been running around like the chickens next door for the last several weeks. Besides his trips to VA, during which it is unclear if the priority is a) cleaning up a small, small subset of government inefficiency or b) learning Jiu Jitsu, we have made a couple of trips to Baltimore. Of course, things being what they are, we were limited in visiting friends, but we had the delightful experience of spending some time with thx4asking and the rest of the fam.

In the big news, justkidding_nr grad-gim-a-tated from U Maryland medical school with the M and the D! sacredangle graduated from Peabody and Johns Hopkins with TWO Bachelors' AND a Masters -- for the win! And derangedqueen trumped everyone with a glorious repeat of her 21st birthday.

Much fun (and kudos!) was had by all...

In the interim, I worked (occasionally) and joined the gang for AW10. I finished the top on my quilt -- for a wedding gift for June 25th. (It would be a much nicer gift I would finish it...) and tried to increase the overall achievement on a baby sweater for a friend's kiddo that was born May 4th. At this rate, I'm aiming for a 6-9 month size!! [In the interim, I've just now updated my Ravelry site with a couple of pictures.] I also finished a pair of socks at some point before I left, which I'll have to add to the site at some point, just for everyone's amusement. That, and the pair of mittens that are two different sizes b/c I used two different sized needles to make them.... :(

Yesterday was fdmts and my 10th anniversary. We celebrated by using a gift certificate won at Taste of the South End for the Union Grill near the hospital. They did a good job of making a fuss! We got a corner booth and a little card signed by the staff, and they brought out a champagne toast at the beginning. The food was really tasty, the wine list was extensive, and the Brazilian waiter stopped to notice my new jewelry (courtesy of fdmts, of course!) All that, and dinner was $9.10, even with a nice bottle of Reserve Trimbach Pinot Gris.... :)

(sparkly!)
