Strange things....

Um, we have a dog. It's not OUR dog, but he's a very nice dog. Looks like a miniature Schnauzer. He's black and friendly, and cuddled up next to me on the couch. This is after we found him on the street -- wet, kind of matted, and scared -- and after he literally ran into the wheel of a moving car and almost died. fdmts picked up him, and without a struggle, he came home with us. We gave him a tin of cat food -- you know, what we've got -- which he wolfed down. He scared the bejeezus out of Maia, she was about 3x normal size. Now, he sighs and puts his chin on my leg while I update LJ. Maia is on the stairs where she can look at us from behind the bannister.

Now we have a little bit more time, and we'll be taking our new friend to the MSPCA so that he can be swiped for a chip and hopefully returned safely to his owner, who must be pretty worried about such a nice pet...
