Evidently the apocalyptic rain is upon us.
fdmts is currently down in the basement, trying to slow down the flood of water coming from our walls -- a new one, actually. He's got a bucket and a towel...let's just say it's taking a while. I went down to determine the source of the splashing noise (never good, coming from one's basement).
This is a new area of non-dry basement -- so we went outside in the deluge, and put some handy-dandy leftover bathroom floor tiles under one downspout and some cement bricks under a leaky corner to keep the excess water from seeping right through the walls. We think we've got things down to a dull roar, but only time will tell.
Of course, right now I have Maia perched on my lap, homemade granola mix, and fresh homemade chai, so I'm doing fine.
Just thinking about how we can fix this for future rainstorms....
