Brief update
The short version: Updated
June 1: Close on (awesome!) house in Dorchester
June 2: Have anniversary pizza with some friends on the living room floor of said house
June 3: Take Merlot to vet to have all her left teeth extracted b/c they have been pushed out by a tumor in her jaw. Also, Happy Birthday to my Dad!!
June 4: Last workout with my awesome trainer, who is moving back to Rhode Island. Set up appts with plumbers for fdmts to deal with.
June 5: Have minor breakdown about cat
June 6: Work most of day on house. Get most of the way through replacing the screens, cleaning out the basement, packaging up carpet for delivery to the dump. Deal with complicated HIV patient from cell phone most of day.
June 7: Work in the morning, then the SOWA Farmer's Market / Craft fair / Antiques for, like, 2 hours! Bought some cool stuff, including macaroons!! Oh, and strawberries!! Skipped going to the house today. Napped for 3 hours instead. Only started crying about the cat when she showed up in the bed with blood all over her face and paw.
June 8: Work. fdmts met with the basement ppl and the Verizon ppl at the house, got an updated plan. Had friend from work come over, she went for a run on the awesome bike path, then we went to dinner at Common Ground. Cat looking grumpy and not eating well, but pretty much unchanged. Maia is jealous.
June 9: Work. Set up appts for a ReBath person and a tile resurfacing person to come to the house this weekend. Find out definitively that Merlot has a squamous cancer of the mouth and has "days to weeks" to live with us. Take Merlot back to vet to get another patch shaved and another Fentanyl patch put on for pain control. Have another breakdown in the car on the way to the vet, with her howling in sympathy (?). Look at Xrays with vet--ugh. At least she ate something.
June 10: Happy Birthday, brother! Merlot ate almost 1/2 a can of food this morning. (Yay!)
and now I'm going to be late for work if I'm not careful.
