Here, and
here Affiliation: Trainer, but wants to be a breeder because he doesn't really like battling.
Personality:
Matthew is known more as the embodiment of the county of Canada and fits into the stereotype of the "average" Canadian. His main trait though is his "invisibility". He seems to just disappear and fade into the background while with other people. Others rarely notice his presence, and when he is noticed, he is usually confused for America. His most spoken sentence is probably, "I'm Canada." Even his pet can't recognize him or remember his name, because yes his pet can speak. Since he's doesn't get recognized often, he is pretty shy and soft spoken. His voice is almost a whisper and can barely be heard, helping him just fade into the background.
Canada is extremely kind and has the ability to make friends with those that most people tend to ignore or be afraid of, like Cuba and Russia, without feeling that threatened. While yes, Russia scares him and Cuba has a tendency to beat on him thinking he's America, they are still friends and he'll forgive them for what they do to him. Being able to tolerate being forgotten and abused for who he isn't makes him a very patient person. Not being recognized even by those he considers his friends gets him a bit down, but he remains optimistic. It also leaves him feeling a bit lonely, but overall Matt is content with how things are. He is usually a very peaceful person (sans the occasional hockey game or blowing up at America for pushing him too far, but I'll go into that a bit later). Considering Canada has a ton of wilderness and wildlife, he appreciates nature and respects life. Even though he has been involved in countless wars and battles, he is still a pacifist and would rather not fight or jump into things too quickly.
He is a very gentle and caring person, he keeps his pet polar bear by his side. But along with that he is loyal and stands up for what he believes in or what he thinks to be true. Even when others don't recognize him or see right past him, he'll continue showing up and being friendly. It's his duty as Canada to go to the meetings and even if his voice isn't heard or his face isn't seen, he still goes. Matt sticks to his ideals. When America was rebelling with England and wanted Canada to join him, he refused and instead stayed with England (but did gain his independence afterward in a much more peaceful way).
America is one of the only people who can really get a harsh reaction out of him. Matt is one of those people who lets things slide again and again, but in reality he's building up everything until it finally bursts, usually at Alfred. He once spent hours berating him, reducing Al to tears. That's pretty much his outlet, but it shows how much he trusts Al, letting him be the only one who really sees that side of him. That's not to say that he has no other outlet, that's what hockey is for, one of his greatest skills and rivals all other countries. He can be even more feared than Russia while on the rink.
On a much lighter note, Canada (as a country) is pretty open minded, okay with gay marriage and marijuana use.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Matt's strengths and weaknesses tend to mesh together, depending on the situation they can go either way. He has a tendency to go unnoticed, if he wanted to he could sneak around or just not show up to an event and no one would notice. Not that he would do that. He's very kind, he'd be the one who would have Pokémon that need kindness and love to evolve and they would evolve fairly quickly. Since he fades to the background he can give lots of love to his Pokémon, which is why he wants to be a breeder. He's very shy and would prefer not to fight or to battle with anyone but he would stop and help anyone in need, be it person or Pokémon. For being invisible most of the time, Matt doesn't like to be alone. He's intelligent even if doesn't always speak his mind, and he's pretty strong even if he doesn't always use his strength, but he's not nearly as strong as Al.
I can add more if you would like, but I feel as if I covered it in the personality section?

[Matt smiles shyly at the screen, a Togepi wiggles in his arms trying to look at the device recording them, she's very curious about it all but Matt keeps her snug in his arms. He speaks quietly.]
Hello, I'm Canada, but you can call me Matthew if you like. [He smiles down at Togepi and chirps happily] This is my Togepi, she's pretty cute. These creatures are so interesting, don't you think. Although the music is a bit odd. I think I would like to learn more about Pokémon and our surroundings. They seem very peaceful, I like that. While it seems to be that I am a Trainer, I'm thinking of becoming a Breeder, it will be a better path for me.
Would anyone like to train with me? I would really appreciate it.
[Togepi keeps squirming and eventually breaks free of his grasp. The camera shakes a bit and ends up tilted]
Maple! Togepi, please come back.
[He catches her and picks her up, smiling at her again. She tilts her head and lets out a "Pi?" Matt sighs.]
It's Matt, the one who feeds you.
Third Person Sample:
Matt blinked and looked around. Where was he? This place definitely wasn't Canada, it was much warmer for one. A woman had given him something and almost pushed him out of the house. Who's house was this? Who was this woman? Matt stuttered out a thank you and blushed a bit when the woman gave him something- whatever it was.
He looked and found a curious red and white ball shaking lightly. Matt took it in his hands and as it shook his eyes widened. The small button seemed to call to him. It was odd, like one of those do not press buttons that always gets pressed in one of America's comics books. Without really meaning to, he pressed the button. It was impulsive, something he really wasn't used to. A great flash of white light came out of the ball and when it faded away an odd egg... thing stood in it's place.
"Togepi?" The egg chirped at him. Matt's eyes widened. What is this... thing? It was cute sure, it reminded him of Kumojiro, his pet polar bear back home, even if they were nothing alike really.
"I'm sorry." He whispered, "I don't know what that means."
It... He? She? She chirped again and walked around him. Matt just watched her, wondered what it was doing. The egg creature went over to the bag the woman had given him and dug through it. She pulled out a berry and chomped happily on it. Matt could only really watch, it was adorable. The word Togepi was repeated a few more times, was that the creatures name?
"Togepi" He said allowed, the creature looked at him. So maybe it was her name. "I'm Matthew." He said quietly. The Togepi walked back over to him and sat in his lap. She seemed very happy to be with him. It was... nice. Someone, something?, seemed to really love him. Maybe he could get used to this place, where ever he was. It's not like the others are likely to notice that he's missing.
This creature was interesting. Was there more of them? He picked up Togepi and the bag and walked around the small town. There was a lab nearby with a Professor who probably knew more about these then he did. He was off to talk to him.
