Last day...
Today is my last day at my current job.
Wow, time flies. I started here on 5/1/2000 and an interesting bit of "trivia" is that I gave notice 2,100 days after my start date (1/30/06).
Yesterday, I said my farewell (she prefers to say "farewell" rather than "goodbye") to my boss (she's out of the office today). It was rough, we both got a little teary-eyed. She was the best boss I have ever had. She, unlike most managers, backs her words with action. She also has no problem with work - if a problem arises, she doesn't hand it of to her subordinates at 5pm and walk out the door...she will stay till it's fixed.
Today, I do the rest of my farewells...it'll be tough with a few of my coworkers, but in general, I'll be fine. Personally, I feel a little miffed, usually in the past when someone left, upper management (the level over my boss) brought in doughnuts on the final day...no such luck. Oh well....
I turn in my laptop at 11:30, then go to lunch (nothing planned). Come back at 1...say my farewells, then go to my "exit interview" at 1:30. I am planning on catching the 2:30 train home.
