Stephen here, I enjoyed the movie for a no brainer, but other than comic book mythology the movie was very amateurishly written and edited. SPOILER WARNING: The idea that Cyclops could be kileld and it never gets shown in the movie is ridiculous. I know this happened because the actor took a role in Superman. So, get someone eles to play the part, that guy sucked anyway.
Stan Lee had no say in this or the Spidoer-Man movies. He's retired. He jsut owns stock in Marvel nowadays, that's it.
At the end of it, some of the battles were quite fun but many characters like Rogue for example were just wasted. I liked it, but it was the weakest of the three sotry wise. I wrote a full review over at cinegeek.com.
We've had this discussion before, but I prefer Marvle because I can identify with the characters. They live in the real world and they are affected by it. Captain America got his start fighting Nazis and the new skylines drawn in the comcis represent the lack of the owrld trade center. They're just more grounded in reality. I recently started trying to read this new Crisis series from DC. It's nearly impossible to get into if you haven't been reading DC nonstop for the past several years. The biggest reason is that the heros all refer to each other by their first names, so how the hell am I supposed to figure out who is who in these new characters? I am reading the Superman reboot though and it's quite good.
uh-oh...i smell another DC vs. Marvel conversation coming on :p we've been doing that for the past 7 years lol, but its nice to debate about cause we both like the technical side of comics and understand each other better on the subject
