1. Ohio State--has only played three real games, but won all three convincingly
2. Michigan--has also only played three real games, but also won all three convincingly
3. Auburn--tough call, but Auburn's only lost one game and beat Florida
4. Florida--hate to put the Gators up here, but they've beaten a top ten team and only lost to my #3
5. Louisville--has a chance to jump to #3 with a win over West Virginia
6. Tennessee--a one-point loss to Florida away form being #3
7. Notre Dame--quality wins and a tough loss to the #2 team
8. Texas--not too different from ND, except that their competition has been slightly worse
9. Cal--loss to Tennessee was painful but not inexcusable, has handled everyone since
10. Southern Cal--things look grim for the Trojans with ND and Cal still on the schedule, but both games are at home
11. Arkansas--impossible to fairly rank at this time. Showdowns with LSU and Tennessee will tell us everything we need to know.
12. Wisconsin--here on credit as a one-loss team from a real conference.
13. West Virginia--playing its first real football game Thursday night.
14. Rutgers--no different from WVU in my book
15. Boston College--are they really the best team in the ACC? So very sad.
