So...Doctor Who...Not So Much

Apparently there's this show called "Doctor Who" that's premiering the second part of Series 6 this evening, or already has in some parts of the world. I've heard of this, I do believe, but do I have any interest in watching it?

Not a chance.

I believed I stopped watching Series 6 sometime around "The Doctor's Wife," where I got really squicked out about the TARDIS suddenly being a physical, human woman and highly sexualized, and haven't looked back. From what I hear, Series 6 becomes all sort of sketchy and I'm not about to see Rory punch Hitler (doesn't matter that Rory is awesome, I just don't want to see it), nor do I want to see the Doctor hook it up with Amy's child. This creepy family dynamic they have is, on some levels, almost incestuous. If I had watched the last three episodes of the first part of Series 6 I would write more, but, seeing as I haven't, I won't pass that much judgement on what I have not seen. I just know this show is no longer for me.

Call me an RTD fangirl if you'd like, I don't care. I loved his Who when he was producer, although where he is going with Miracle Day I'm not as thrilled with, but Moffat is all sorts of strange and bizarre. And, my god, Moffat is not Classic Who! Unless you want to say that he includes more sexism in his productions than, yes, he is more Classic Who in that respect but not story wise. Furthermore, I also have a liking for DW eras that are not RTD's, thank you very much. Even though JNT had his problems and horrible episodes, I still enjoy what he did for Five (even if that whole run was issue after issue), and I have also loved some of the Four episodes I've seen. I do not believe that one can only call me an "RTD fangirl," as if that could ever be considered an insult *eyeroll*, when I enjoy my fair share of Classic Who as well. Although, if you did tell me I was, I'd take it as a compliment. :)

My day, instead, will be spent, writing, reading my pretty new X-Files book that came in, and watching the movie "The Eagle" and perhaps the TV Show "Rizzoli & Isles" on my computer. Not sure what can get better than that.

...Except for my mother coming home later today. Thank the gods she decided to be sensible and come home! Oi, mothers out there! Stop making your children worry! It isn't fair and don't you dare tell me payback is a bitch! *grumble grumble*

Ok, after a big BLT for lunch, I think it's time for a nap. While watching the news for more weather updates. ...I'm a big weather junkie now, aren't I? Oh well!
