Random Musing on Dw Series 4

Apr 03, 2011 00:15

So I just finished the last three episodes of DW Series 4 (alright, I skipped the last few minutes of JE) and had to come up here and write down some plot bunnies/ideas.

First of all, I think Rose really likes the Doctor's hair:

"I think you dream about him sometimes. There's a man in a suit. Tall, thin man. Great hair. Some... really great hair."

Sorry, quick giggle moment on my behalf. Completely one of her more, ah, humorous facial expressions.

Then there was the exchange between Rose and Donna which had me giggling as well, from the same scene:

Donna: Yeah. Well. Blonde hair might work on the men, but you ain't shifting me, Lady.
Rose: That's more like it.
Donna: I've got plenty more.
Rose: And you'll come with me. Only when you want to.
Donna: You'll have a long wait, then.

*giggles*

Also, why is Rose wearing the same damn outfit for three eps in a row? Actually, she wears the same thing for the whole season. Good point, Donna. Did the wardrobe department have a malfunction or is that the standard Torchwood uniform on the parallel universe? Perhaps the events of Series 4 for Rose happened in the span of a day? Interesting... *thinks on it*

Second, Dalek Caan had prophesied that there would be a Doctor with three faces coming in TSE, which suddenly made sense to me today. It's the Doctor, Doctor 2.0, and Donna. Donna is the third of his many faces. *smacks forehead* Duh! Silly me.

Third, I had a small biology moment. It's a long-winded thought-process of biology, chromosomes, and how the hell could Ten2 ever look like the original Doctor without most of his DNA coming from his Time Lord self? If there's any bit of Donna in Ten2 it's very little. At the very least, if it was split half-and-half, Ten should at least have a lighter shade of hair, right?

Fourth, what would have happened if the Doctor had given Donna a choice on the whole mind wipe thing? Would he have just stood there and let her brain turn into mush? Would she have died? Gone up in a big ball of fire? *writes plot bunny down* If Donna had been given the choice, would she have decided to die? Did she actually want that or were all of her protests the words of a scared woman? Would Ten have let her suffer? Did Ten just want to be alone? *more scribbling*

Fifth, during TL, what was the Doctor thinking when he drowned? I'm waiting for my angst bunny... *plot bunny appears* There you are! *cuddles it* I like my angst, yes I do.

Sixth, I have a fluffy plot bunny that extends epic run scene between Rose and the Doctor from TSE. Well, not fluffy really, but more extended (Dalek still fires and Jack still kills said Dalek) as I'm sure everyone had one of those ideas/fics written. Suppose I must go through all of the DW fanfic tropes myself, huh?

Seventh, when the Doctor says, at the end on Bad Wolf Bay, that Ten2 is just like when Rose just met him, I actually said aloud to the TV, "or you in a few specials." Ten completely reverts after only a few specials. Huh, there is a very drastic change from Ten in "Planet of the Dead" to "Waters of Mars" really. Another reason for me to rewatch WoM again.

Eighth, last but not least, Jack, Gwen, and Ianto! Oh Ianto! *sad sigh* Know what else is funny? I just realized that Gwen said "Yeah? Well, I'm going out fighting. Like Owen. Like Tosh. How about you?" Gods, I'm daft! That quote is rather awesome. And I miss Tosh. I should rewatch some Torchwood eps so I can find plot bunnies for her. Hard though as there really is no happy episode of Torchwood.... *ponders*

Ninth, ok, this is the very last, but Rose in TL explained what happened to the Torchwood team when the Sontarans came with the ATMOS devies: "That was the Torchwood team. Gwen Cooper. Ianto Jones. They gave their lives. And Captain Jack Harkness has transported to the Sontaran home world. There's no one left." Ouch, poor Jack....again...

Oh, and I've finally had a decent day! Hurray! And...now I'll be up all night because I still haven't taken my sleeping meds and I'm sipping on a Mountain Dew. :D Joy.

I've also got a strange desire to watch the Buffy musical again.... "Say you're happy now - Once more with feeling."
