Earlier today I was thinking I am about due for a good old fashioned dose of synchronicity. Ha! Well...
Jeff and I met at a church near Frandor to go to a raw foods potluck. I sat waiting for him outside as some people entered the church. Then a car pulled up and some dudes got out... and I realized they were two guys I had my Recovery Coach training with: Mike and David. I chatted with Mike for a few minutes. He said he had not attended the monthly potluck in about three years, and he mentioned something to Dave about how he wasn't sure if Munson was coming or not.
"MUNSON?!" I yelped. And he verified my suspicions by saying, "Yeah, Dave Munson. You know him?"
Know him? Haha, yeah, just a bit...
I want to restate: Mike used to attend the potluck regularly, but had not done so in three years. I met him a week ago and this was my first time at the potluck. Even without the Munson factor, that is an awesome coincidence.
Jeff arrived and we entered the church gymnasium where the potluck was being set up. Then I pulled Jeff back out into the hallway because I wanted to tell him that Dave Munson might be there. The timing was perfect. No sooner had Jeff and I entered the hallway than did Dave Munson come strutting on through the door.
I was rude to Dave last time I talked to him, and I avoided him the last two times I saw him. Nonetheless, he was still friendly as ever. After dinner him and I talked for a good 20 minutes or so. He seems to still want to give me music lessons. I think it's time to take him up on that. During our conversation he mentioned that he has only been to the potluck once, in December. He went on to describe a series of synchronicities that happened in December, having only a sparse idea that he himself was currently part of a massive web of synchronicities for me.
On our way to the bus, I told Jeff, "Man, just earlier today I was hoping an awesome synchronicity would come up. Last time I hoped that was the night when Jenny was at your apartment."
On the number 5, on the way to Jeff's, Jenny boarded. Now Jenny is Jeff's Dave Munson. Last time Jeff saw her he was rude to her, and he has had no interest in seeing her again, much like I've been with Munson. Last time Jeff did see her he avoided her, just like I did with Munson. On the bus, I prompted Jeff to go over with me to sit by her and talk with her. We all talked for a while, while I just reveled in the intricacies of the day. Jeff was very pleasant and civil with her, though he was secretly a little disgruntled with the situation.
After we got off I was about to say, "SHE'S YOUR DAVE MUNSON!" when Jeff beat me to it: "SHE'S MY DAVE MUNSON!" he said, exasperated. I couldn't help but explode into laughter, that he had taken the words out of my mouth; that we see so eye to eye that he would even say something like that.
There were some other things too. An Amber synchronicity or two, following my thought process of wanting to name my future daughter Amber. "Give us a ring..."
