Room 407, Sunday morning

May 04, 2008 10:22

When Sky awoke on Sunday morning and had gone through his usual routine of wake-run-shower-dress, he came back to his room and turned his attention to the letter he'd handwavily received from S.P.D. on Friday, which he'd been too busy to focus on. He read it once, blinked hard, and read it again to make sure he wasn't seeing things.

Cadet Tate,

I hope your pending graduation from Fandom goes well. You have not yet indicated to us at Command if you'll be coming back here or staying at Fandom for the summer, so please get that information to us as soon as possible, because we have a time-sensitive mission you may choose to take on if you come back here.

There was always something that struck me as odd about Dru Harrington's disappearance- and I'd like you to accompany me to the Ohru Nebula to see if we can find any evidence that he might still be alive. Or even, Heaven forbid, concrete evidence of his death. Of course, if you want to turn down this mission because it would be too painful for you, I completely understand, and I would not go by myself. It's also quite likely that if you choose to go, you would not be able to come back to Fandom. But I also think it would at least help give you some closure and would be good training for you.

Please think about my proposal and write or call me back as soon as possible. If you choose to do the mission, you must let me know within the next week or I will not be able to take the time off for it.

Sky realized he was staring at the letter with his mouth open, shut it, quickly folded the letter and threw it on his desk.

Finding Dru. He'd almost forgotten about him- but how could he forget? More importantly, how could he turn an opportunity like this down?

But there was another problem. Could he leave Fandom? His friends? Troy? Sky rubbed his face with one hand and decided to think about it, and think hard. He had to come to a decision soon, and he knew it would be one of the most difficult ones he'd ever made.

[Establishly, but can be open, sure, especially if teammates or friends or the boyfriend or... anyone is around. I'm going to be dropping Sky within a few days, so now's the time.]
