“No, no, no. Not like that!” Natasha reached out to cover Loki’s hand with hers, looking up at the Asgardian who towered over her. He tried to give her that glare that was supposed to make her tremble in her Italian leather boots, but she just glared right back. Had he really forgotten who he was dealing with? “Where did you even learn how to do this?”
“I never learned until now. It’s not as if we had need of it where I come from,” The god replied, trying his best not to sneer but failing miserably. And no doubt on purpose.
Natasha rolled her eyes and started to nudge him out of the way. “Give it to me. I don’t care who you are, you’re just doing it wrong. Were any of you ever children, or were you all magically born irritating, egotistical adults?”
Loki folded his arms over his chest as the Russian woman took over, his gaze flicking around to study first her flaming red hair, and then the way her fingers worked to see just what it was she considered to be ‘the right way’. “Children, yes. But again, I have to point out we never had something like this on Asgard.”
Natasha just quirked an eyebrow and straightened up to push him back when Loki started to move in close again. She knew that at any moment he could break out his magic fingers and lash out, but they seemed to have an understanding between them. He wouldn’t cast spells on her, and she wouldn’t put a bullet in his brain. “I was raised by a military unit and yet I still had the time to learn how to have fun.”
Loki grinned at that, gaze purposely sliding down over her body. “I can have fun, my dear Widow. This just isn’t how I choose to do so. Some of us enjoy more… adult pursuits.”
“And yet here you are, trying to conquer the world of Lego,” she responded as she pressed a piece into his chest so that he’d take it. “Let me know how you get on with that.” She slipped past him, obviously over her brief urge to try and help the guy.
“Widow, wait.” When she didn’t stop, he sighed. “Natasha…”
She turned at that. “Loki.”
“Can you just show me how to build an archway first?” There was a pause as he struggled with the next word. “Please.”
