So.....we're hosting Thanksgiving here for the first time in four years. The house was a mess from the remodeling for two years and the year before that we traveled to NJ. It will be nice to have everyone here again...and YAY, no traveling for us!!
We're not even cooking! Screw that! We ordered the turkey and all the fixin's from a local restaurant where the chef is featured on The Food Network. We've heard nothing but great things about the meal so we decided to give it a try. We picked everything up tonight and it was all we could do to keep from grabbing a few samples. Everyone brings a dish too, so there is going to be massive amounts of food....shit, we'll be eating leftover turkey for a month!
Anyway, since we're not going to bust our asses with a lot of the preparation and cooking, I have to ask a question.....Does anyone cook the entire meal anymore? Most of my friends (and ourselves included) gather at a relative's home but everyone brings an assigned dish and no one really has the chore of cooking the entire meal.
So...as you all gather together tomorrow to enjoy the family, the food, the football, the fun, the tryptophan....zzzzzzzzzzzz, just remember one thing......All it takes is one undercooked turkey and you'll be the "dinner rolls" and "soda" person for the rest of your life. :)
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
