So, I'm finally done unpacking and hanging curtains and hanging pictures and stuff. If you're curious, pictures of my apartment are
in here.
Here's a to-scale drawing of my apartment, with the perspective from which each following photo was taken. The front door is all the way on the bottom on the right side. From left to right, it's kitchen, living room, bathroom (which I hate), and bedroom. Just above #1 is my hallway closet, and to its left is my bedroom closet.
1. This is my lovely storage shelf, which is the first thing I see when I enter my apartment. Note the stepladder. I thought about putting it in a closet, and finally admitted that, with my lack of space, tall ceilings, and shortness, a lot of my stuff ended up going vertical and I'm going to need to use this thing all the time.
2. This is basically toiletry overflow. Also note the lovely shopping cart, which I use to go get my groceries as I no longer have a car. On the bookshelf to the right, you can also see my Violet comic, which was written by
stacebass. This is also the only glimpse you get into my bathroom, because I hate it.
3. My bed and the curtains I hung all by myself. The curtains are blue, even though they look black. The weird lump on my bed is a pillow. I'm hoping the radiator doesn't making scary screechy radiator noises, as it will by right by my head as I try to sleep.
4. Various wall hangings and the photo display area on top of the chest. If you look really closely, some of you may recognize yourselves in the photos. To the right of the chest, you can see some of my shoes. I didn't photograph all of them, because
ipmcc would have made fun of me for having so many shoes.
5. My dresser and pink gym bag. The weirdness on the wall is the flash reflection from the mirror, not an odd paint job. Note the easy access of the lint roller, which is what happens when you have an always-shedding black and white cat.
6. My living room/office/dining room. The curtains are purple, which you can't tell from the picture, and I hung those damn things myself, too. The papasan already has fur all over it, which you also cannot see.
7. The LR/O/DR, perspective #2. Some of you may recognize Gwenevere on the floor - she's the purple pig.
8. My kitchen, complete with over-the-stove microwave. I love this microwave. I'm pretty sure that it's giving me cancer, but good lord, is it ever powerful.
9. Still my kitchen.
ipmcc picked out the curtains, and while I didn't like them initially, I really like them now. Hanging the one on the left necessitated perching between the counter and the top of the refrigerator to drill the holes. You don't even want to know how I hung the one on the right.
