The high point of my Christmas, other than my hair looking fantastic and chasing around two hyper dogs and a very hyper toddler (yet another hit of the snooze bar on the biological clock), was getting to graffiti my grandparents', now aunt's, kitchen walls. She hates the goose wallpaper. So everyone through the door gets a sharpie to deface, I mean personalize a goose or two. I spent a very happy half hour turning several into as many characters from Star Wars as I could manage given the colors available and the fact that I was coloring over geese.
I suppose I didn't get what I really wanted for christmas, but I got money and the Dark Knight and a fantastic hair day, so I suppose I'll suck it up and be grateful. Oh, and a couple weeks off, I know I was getting them anyway but at this point really a godsend...it'll be August before I get anything resembling a break like this again (thank you Muhlenberg for not giving me off national holidays or spring break). Also got a friend of mine joining myspace...six? nearly seven? years after swearing he would never join that or anything like it. I laughed. I also laughed at the full-length novel-sized "about me." And that there is no mention whatsoever of the piece of work that he's dating.
Now I have a week to kill before I have anything else to do. I have very few ideas beyond sleeping a lot and taking out 10 minutes to tag whatever furniture I want in my parents' garage. ...I am going to be beating my head into the fucking wall out of boredom.
I should also add my Christmas Eve revelation -- that raw calamari tentacles feel feel fucking creepy! I'll do anything else in the kitchen, but someone else can PLEASE handle the raw squid. I'll enjoy it when it doesn't feel so weird and squishy and like it's going to start moving at any second.
Merry...well, ok, it's Boxing Day now, but whatever. Hope that everyone got, in one form or another, what they most desired.
