1st update on my goals

I think I'm doing pretty well. Not too bad for 18 days into the new year.

My living room is now 90% clean. I've still got a few things on the tabletops that I need to put away and take care of, but all the rest of the dusting, vacuuming, organizing, and polishing is done. Yay! Next up: the kitchen.

I'm a little behind on my books. I just finished my third book, and by this point in time I should have read 4 and started working on my fifth. Maybe I should skip the 700-pager I just started and find something shorter to devour first, just to get my numbers back up...

Next month will be my last payment on one of my credit cards, and I can start putting the $200/month I was devoting to it on the next card. Yay! Shredding is imminent.

I don't know if I've lost any weight yet, but I have been making conscious decisions about what I eat and how much of it. I dragged out my food journal and have started writing what, how much, and when I'm eating. I've also started exercising a bit more with Rich. He's got a stationary bike and a treadmill at his place, and we use it before we go and play games. When we have some time off together and the weather is decent (not rainy or cold!), we'll start walking outside again (in his neighborhood, not mine). That'll be nice.

I feel pretty confident that this year of challenges and changes are all within my grasp. And even if I don't complete them 100%, I'll be able to say I did my best and that I got something out of it. And maybe it'll serve as the impetus for me to carry on with continuing my self-improvement.
