Только вот экономика даже здесь совсем не гуманитарная, а social science.

Которые тоже являются гуманитарными науками. Liberal Arts.

I think it depends on the school. There is no liberal arts at MIT Econ department. But there was no liberal arts at MIT, period.

MIT takes Econ from the mathematical approach, and that is understandable. Many Lib Arts schools leave math to the MIT grads and concentrate on the various dynamics and philosophies.

I did take an econ/philosophy course on Karl Marx here in USA.

Then it's not really economics, I'd say, it's philosophy or something. I am only familiar with econ programs at similar type schools, like Harvard, Columbia, etc., and they are all similar to MIT's. How can you read an econ research paper if you can't do math?
