Recycling v. Reusing
I am all for recycling, but I am not fanatical about it.
I am on the other hand a great proponent of reusing, this way no energy is wasted on recycling something that can have its useful life extended.
I also prefer not to use disposable cutlery and plates. Dishwashers took the grunt of the hassle with normal flatware, so why not use metal forks and thick plastic plates instead of flimsy plastic forks and useless paper plates?
Over the weekend we got rid of all the moving boxes we used in our relocation. All the boxes that we unpacked already to be exact. Other people picked them up to reuse. I feel good about this. Less energy wasted and someone saved time and money.
