I developed a peacock obsession after visiting
Mayfield Park in Austin, TX. What a beautiful place that was. And of course I didn't have my camera with me! Which is a good thing sometimes. It is a garden with peacocks roaming everywhere. I had never seen a peacock in a tree before. I don't think I had any idea that they could half fly and crawl themselves around in the trees! It just fills me with happy that an animal like the peacock exists. You look at it and you think "How?" Everything from the colors to that little crown of feathers on top of its head. I can't stop staring at pictures of them.
Look at this face! (pics are not mine)
I find the peacock at rest somehow even more beautiful than one on display:
But the allure of this cannot be denied. I can't imagine what it is like to encounter this display from his tiny perspective. =)
