Well I can say for certain that I have at least one cosplay that will fit me at con. I just finished refitting Kairi's skirt and shirt today. The skirt took most of the afternoon, having to rip out the zipper and the extra panel I had to add last AE because I originally made the skirt too small. Then sewing the new zipper in by hand because invisible zippers are a pain to sew in with a sewing machine. The shirt took the least amount of effort. I just took the sides in by a inch and extended the darts in the back. My finger are killing me from all the hand sewing but its good to have one fitting taken off the list.
Ariel's dress is still mostly in pieces. But I did get the skirt and the skirt lining sewn together. The zipper is in, and I did some more fine tuning on bodices the fit, and it's pretty much done and done. The sleeve fall off the shoulders just slightly and the bodice hug my frame nicely. All that is left is to connect the skirt to the bodice, finish the second layer of the petticoat and finally do the hem. (oh how I dread that petticoat)
Mai is still in serious need of refitting. I do not look forward to taking in those pants. I'l have to rip the waist band out completely to be able to take enough out of the side for the bloody thing to not fall off and then re-sew the band back on. The top should be no harder then taking a half an inch or more out of all the princess seams. The sleeves are fine. And the overcoat? Well, it may not be a super snug fit anymore, but that is one sleeping dog I do not want to mess with. Maybe pleats in the back, but I'll have to think about that one. ><;;
I just got my Prussia wig in the mail today. It ended up more of a darker grey then I thought it would be, but I'm sure it will be fine. As I've seen cosplayer use just about any shade of white/grey for his hair color. (I'm not going to worry about it even if it is dark. . . T-T At least I don't want to.) I'm still waiting for my Chrome wig to arrive and I'm still having no luck with boots. I now fear I may have to spend almost two hundred dollars in order to get a pair of boots that will work and that is not a happy realization.
In happier news I finally took off those few extra pounds I picked up around my last trip to Bellingham. I know I've said this before, I but I still think its sad how easy it is to put back on what took so long to take off. Still, any progress is good.
