Musings on The King of Fighters.......
I was playing KOF 97 today, I hadn't noticed some neat little aspects of it, such as, the second half of the game is depicted in an actual tourney fashion, complete with brackets and rankings, as if you were in a real tourney. I was disussing the graphics with a friend of mine and he thinks the sprites are the same in KOF 98, even though I had read they were 20% bigger in the sequel, then in this game, I'm curious to see which one of us is right, so I'm going to load up 2 versions of Kawaks side by side and have them both running at once.
One thing about the stage graphics in KOF 97, some have neat effects, such as a volumetric strobe light in one stage that spins randomly in different directions and looks fully 3D, really impressed me for Neo Geo hardware.
