The guy in charge of the computer lab and, by extension, the library's computers, just came around and said goodbye.
He's been let go.
Laid off.
Effective immediately.
There is a security guard waiting to escort him from the building. He's not even allowed to take his personal office things with him.
And, he warns, others are to follow. He told us to keep our heads down.
I think I see the Sword of Damocles hanging over my head even as we speak.
