World Information
The world involved in this storyline is very much similar to the present-day earth as we know it, naturally with a few exceptions. Imagine a world with elements of Supernatural, Underworld, Constantine and Paradise Lost tossed in. A world where the paranormal and the mundane not only meet, but sit down and have lunch together while discussing the latest headlines in the city newspaper.
There are humans, vampires, werewolves, demons and angels running about, mingling and meddling with each other all throughout this plane of existence. Ghosts, spirits and other preternatural creatures add to the fray, making the aether a noisy place to inhabit, provided one has the ability to peek in and eavesdrop.
The natural laws of physics still apply; ergo, if you drop a wineglass on the floor, it will definitely shatter and if one isn't careful, a nasty cut might be in order when sweeping up the broken glass. Guns in the hands of evildoers still kill people; world hunger still exists; but then, so does mercy, compassion and love. Although whether those are quantified equally is anyone's guess.
Character Types

Humans: The regular every-day Joes of the world. They outnumber every other living species on the planet, save for maybe bacteria, and even then it's up for grabs. They are doctors, lawyers, policemen, milkmen, housewives, teachers and most aren't even aware of what goes on beyond the borders of their habitual lives. There are a select few, however, who have reached into the darkness and have been undaunted at what reached back.

Demons: Demons exist in this world, but instead of having tangible forms of their own, they are forced to inhabit the body of a human; age, race or gender is irrelevant. Once they possess their host, the demon's essence is anchored into the human body, effectively trapped until either the host is physically destroyed or the demon is wrenched out of its figurative apple and made to depart. Unfortunately, the latter leaves the host a vegetable or dead, as once a demon possesses a host, all semblance of the human soul within is deposed and lost. If/when this occurs, a demon must seek another vessel immediately, as they cannot exist perhaps more than an hour in the human realm without aid.

Angels: The heavenly guardians of the mortal world. However, much like their brimstone counterparts, these celestial beings cannot exist in their true forms upon the human plane. They too must also inhabit a host, but unlike demons, angels don't dispose of the soul within. Instead, they envelop it, bringing Heaven's power and grace to the shell of humanity they possess. These cases of angelic possession are rare, since once the angelic spirit enters a human vessel, it cannot be dislodged. If the physical host is destroyed or dies, then the human soul is taken up to heaven. Angelic possession occurs most often to a soul tormented by some inner struggle, a conflict which must lead the soul to seek redemption at the end of its karmic journey. If successful, the soul journey will be complete and utopia achieved.

Lycanthropes: Soldiers created specifically for the demon army. Since humanity has created their "monsters" and delight in the things that scare them the most, in order to generate mass panic and destroy as many of the human cattle as possible, the demons decided to bring in the wolves. However, since these beasts must also move within humanity's throng, the demon coalition delved deep into science, genetic research and actually managed to bring one of humanity's most feared creatures to fruition. Melding human and animal genes, they were able to breed a strain of mutated human lycanthropes, gifted with the ability to channel the beast within and become something monstrous. The moon holds no sway, differing from the tales of legend, but the urge to rend, hunt and feed is still strong within such creatures.
