Four distinctive factions: ShinRa, Wesker, Hojo/Grantz and ShuRa.
Wesker continues with his research, adding new subjects. After admitting he posed as the 'Fireland' manager he will probably discard that puppet company. He despises ShuRa but seems to be reluctant to confront me. He has avoided replying to my questions, comments and demands. Our negotiation was never concluded, so there is still a possibility for a counteroffer. I understand Shu is wary, but he agrees Wesker could be more helpful than anyone if we achieved an agreement.
"Project Twilight" still worries me. Elena, Shu and now Axel are his test subjects, the procedure and the ultimate result. Their time is growing thin and I feel it cannot be helped. No one knows the 'illness', thinking in a cure is impossible. Could it be affecting their reasoning and behavior?
ShuRa and ShinRa are in peaceful terms. Hojo and Grantz continue with their investigations abducting citizens, they are aware both forces persecute them. Wesker is also a target of the companies but he does not seem to have a close relationship with Hojo and Grantz, they do not trust him. He even betrayed the one who 'saved' him - Duke.
I strongly believe Wesker could have escaped on his own without Duke's assistance. This public treachery... Was seemingly without motive. Why would Wesker do such thing without a good reason? He is not someone who will senselessly dispose of an useful individual like Duke. Perhaps he is attempting to create a façade, lure someone else to ally with Duke against him, yet Duke would still be ultimately working for Wesker.
Could his target be Hojo and Grantz? Perhaps the legendary Turk is already looking for them. Wesker's betrayal would give him a good excuse to ally with someone who is in unfriendly terms with Wesker. Since ShuRa and ShinRa are discarded ... then it leaves the Scientists.
All could be a farce.
I would not like to draw conclusions yet, I need more evidence.
